In June, real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.8% compared with the same period last year.
This is according to a report by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER), as reported by the Ukrainian News agency.
Real GDP growth in the second quarter is estimated at 0.6%.
Agriculture, trade, and industry showed positive trends:
- agriculture grew by 9% thanks to the early start of the grain harvest and the inclusion of crop production figures;
- real value added in trade grew by 5% amid a recovery in demand, while retail trade turnover accelerated its growth to 10.9% in May;
- the extractive industry grew by 4%, and the manufacturing sector by 2.3%, thanks to improved access to electricity for businesses.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Economy has revised down its GDP growth forecast for 2026 to 1.6%.
