Five districts in Kyiv sustain damage due to overnight shelling by russia: one person killed, several injured

On the night of July 19, russian troops shelled Kyiv, resulting in strikes and fires in five districts of the city. Specifically, residential buildings, an office building, a dormitory, non-residential buildings, and vehicles were damaged. One person was killed and 13 others were injured as a result of the enemy attack.

It was reported by Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

Following the russian shelling, strikes and fires were recorded in five districts of the capital:

  1. Solomianskyi District: Firefighters extinguished a fire in an office building and put out fires in residential and non-residential buildings.
  2. Shevchenkivskyi District: Fires in vehicles and a three-story building were extinguished. Efforts were made to rescue people trapped inside. A fire in a non-residential building was contained. One fatality was found.
  3. Sviatoshynskyi District: A fire on the roof of a private residential building was extinguished. Four residents were rescued.
  4. Desnianskyi District: Fires in non-residential buildings at both locations were contained.
  5. Dniprovskyi District: Fires were reported in vehicles, a non-residential building, and a dormitory.

According to rescue workers, the nighttime russian strike claimed the life of one person, and 13 others were injured.

It is reported that rescue workers are currently continuing their efforts at several locations in the Solomianskyi, Desnianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi Districts of the capital.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Lukianivska subway station is temporarily closed due to damage caused by russian shelling on the night of July 19.
