Ukrainian military sailors rescued 17 people - citizens of the Philippines - from the enemy-hit dry cargo ship VENTURO.

The Ukrainian Navy announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Despite the constant russian shelling of the Odesa Region, the crews of the boats of the Ukrainian Navy successfully conducted a rescue operation," the report says.

It is noted that after the russian strike, the dry cargo ship VENTURO was damaged and lost power. One person was killed.

Despite the danger, the military sailors went to sea to provide assistance.

As a result of the rescue operation, 17 civilian sailors, citizens of the Philippines, were safely evacuated to shore.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the evening of July 17, the enemy launched a missile strike on the port infrastructure of the Odesa Region, as a result of which a civilian ship flying the flag of the Marshall Islands was damaged and 4 crew members were injured.
