President Donald Trump is so pleased with the current World Cup that he wants the US to host another championship. But this time without Canada and Mexico.

This is what the authors of the publication Politico write about.

Speaking at a reception on the occasion of the World Cup on Friday, before the final match between Spain and Argentina, which will be held on Sunday, Trump called on FIFA to once again return the world's main sporting event to the United States.

"You should choose the United States of America again," the US President said at a reception at Trump Tower in New York. "But next time we will leave Canada and Mexico out."

Trump then said that FIFA should "choose someone else for the US team for the next match, and it will take some of the anger and hatred and passion out of everyone."

The next men's World Cup, which is still open for bids, will be held in 2038.

FIFA has awarded the 2030 World Cup to six countries, including Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with the first matches to be held in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay to mark the tournament's 100th anniversary. Saudi Arabia was chosen to host in 2034.

Trump also said that FIFA President Gianni Infantino had suggested that the United States and China jointly host the World Cup. The White House host joked that the players would "have a nice short flight between games."
