President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the commander of the Third Army Corps, Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi, and heard a report on the situation on the front.

The President reported this on July 17.

"I am grateful for the strong positions of the corps. We discussed the situation on the front in the Kharkiv and Donetsk Regions, possible steps by the russians, and our tasks in defense. The key thing is that Ukrainian front positions must be as strong as necessary to protect the independence and national interests of our state in the world and in diplomatic work. The front is the foundation. Special attention is paid to ensuring the security of our units. Andrii, thank you!" Zelenskyy wrote.

It should be noted that the day before, Zelenskyy noted in another message that he had heard reports from combat commanders about the situation on the most intensive directions. He spoke with:

  • Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Robert Brovdi,
  • Commander of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine Azov Denys Prokopenko,
  • Commander of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine Khartia Ihor Obolenskyi,
  • Deputy Commander of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Tkachuk,
  • Acting Commander of the 19th Army Corps of the South Operational Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Skred.

"The effectiveness of the program for fair distribution of personnel between combat brigades was noted. This program has been operating since December of last year and will continue. The special experience of the Khartia in attracting foreign volunteers to defend Ukraine should be scaled up to other units. We discussed what is needed for this. I am grateful to the commander of the Azov for his special attention to the exchange process and the fate of our prisoners: there will be appropriate instructions based on what was discussed today," Zelenskyy said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered former Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
