On the night of July 17, russia launched a combined strike on Ukraine using missiles of various types and 130 strike drones. The most serious consequences of the attack were recorded in Odesa, where two civilians were killed and eight more people were injured as a result of the missile strike.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and local authorities.
According to updated data from the Air Force, since the evening of July 16, russian troops have launched the following on the territory of Ukraine:
- one Kh-31P anti-radar missile;
- seven guided aircraft missiles;
- 130 strike drones.
Ukrainian air defense shot down five guided aircraft missiles and 115 drones.
What is known about the consequences of the strike on Odesa
On the evening of July 16, russian troops launched a missile strike on Odesa. The strike hit the Khadzhybeiskyi district of the city.
The missile hit a three-story residential building. Two civilians were killed as a result of the attack. Among them was a woman who was walking in the park with her children during the air raid. The children survived and are receiving necessary assistance.
Eight more people were injured, including children.
As of the morning of July 17, rescuers continued to eliminate the consequences of the russian attack.
In addition to the residential building, 11 more apartment buildings, cars, a preschool, a religious building and other civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.
The Air Force clarified the scale of the night attack
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russia attacked Ukraine simultaneously with missiles and strike drones. The Ukrainian military destroyed most of the air targets, but some of the missiles and drones reached their targets, in particular in Odesa.
Information about the consequences of the strikes in other regions is being clarified.
