Amount of cash in circulation sets yet another historic record

In June, the monetary base—which includes cash in circulation outside banks, as well as banks’ reserve money and other money—increased by 1% to a record UAH 1,247.325 billion, according to preliminary data from the National Bank.

This is according to data from the National Bank, as reported by the Ukrainian News agency.

Since the beginning of the year, the monetary base has grown by 6.2% from UAH 1,174.526 billion.

The money supply rose by 1.1% in June to UAH 4,140.860 billion, and has increased by 3% since the beginning of the year from UAH 4,021.312 billion.

According to preliminary data from the NBU, the amount of cash in circulation increased by 0.2% in June to UAH 914.410 billion, and since the beginning of the year, it has increased by 5.5% from UAH 866.944 billion.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the monetary base grew by 11.6% in 2025 from UAH 1,052.113 billion.

In 2024, the monetary base grew by 7.7% from UAH 976.940 billion.

In 2023, the monetary base grew by 23.3% from UAH 792.537 billion.

In 2021, the monetary base grew by 11.2%, from UAH 595.993 billion to UAH 662.499 billion.
