Following a series of precision strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces against russian military logistics in Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories (TOT), russian troops faced not only a shortage of fuel and ammunition but also a shortage of drivers with the necessary licenses and skills to operate military vehicles. That is why the occupation administration has stepped up its recruitment efforts among residents of the TOT, attempting to enlist them as military drivers. This is stated in a report by the National Resistance Center.
In their recruitment materials, the occupiers are seeking drivers for trucks, specialized vehicles, fuel tankers, medical transport, and other logistical vehicles. It is noted that the entire campaign is aimed at quickly addressing the shortage of personnel responsible for supplying russian troops.
At the same time, the occupation administration continues to create an artificial economic crisis in the temporarily occupied territories. Wages for employees of civilian enterprises have been withheld for months, leaving people without a stable income. Against this backdrop, the occupiers are luring residents with promises of “big money” for signing contracts, using financial hardship as one of their main recruitment tools.
According to the National Resistance Center, the intensification of such recruitment is further evidence of the russian army’s serious problems with ensuring its own logistics. Following the loss of transport convoys, the occupiers are forced to seek new drivers among the population of the temporarily occupied territories to maintain the supply of fuel, ammunition, and other military equipment to their units.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to the National Resistance Center, hospitals in the occupied Donetsk Region are running out of fuel.
