The number of participants in the non-banking financial market in June 2026 decreased by six institutions - to 738, and the number of banks with a banking license did not change and amounted to 59.
This is stated in the NBU report, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In June, the licenses of two financial companies and one pawnshop were forcibly canceled. These institutions were also forcibly excluded from the registers. In addition, three brokers were excluded from the State Register of Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers.
As of July 1, 2026, the following non-banking financial services market operated: 389 financial companies (there were 391), 47 non-life insurers (the number did not change), 10 life insurers (the number did not change), one insurer with a special status (the number did not change), 96 pawnshops (there were 97), 79 credit unions (the number did not change), one lessor (the number did not change), 43 insurance brokers (there were 46) and 72 collection companies (the number did not change).
The number of banking groups (15) and non-banking financial groups (39) did not change.
There are 13 payment systems created by residents (the number has not changed), including two state-owned (the number has not changed), and 10 international payment systems (the number has not changed).
At the same time, there are 15 payment institutions (there were 16) operating in the market of providers of financial payment services, 11 financial institutions entitled to provide payment services (the number has not changed), one bank - issuer of electronic money (the number has not changed) and one postal operator (the number has not changed).
Other entities operating in the payment market include 100 commercial agents (the number has not changed), 32 technological operators of payment services (the number has not changed) and six providers of non-financial payment services (the number has not changed). During June, the National Bank received 171 requests from market participants regarding registration and licensing actions. The number of requests regarding financial companies and lessors was 109, insurers – 25, credit unions and pawnshops – 13, and banks – 23.
