Russia kills six people in Sumy Region: among victims 13-year-old girl

On July 11, russian troops shelled the Sumy Region, using guided aerial bombs, artillery, and attack drones. Six people were killed and another 42 were wounded over the course of the day. Four children were among the casualties.

It was reported by the Sumy Regional Police.

What is known about the attack on the Sumy Region on July 12?

Over the course of the day, 13 communities in the region came under russian attack.

The russian attack caused the most casualties in the Sumy community. The russians struck with guided aerial bombs, killing five people. Among them were a 13-year-old girl and men aged 27 to 67.

Forty-two people were injured. Among them were:

  • a newborn girl;
  • girls aged 10 and 12;
  • a 13-year-old boy.

Women aged 18 to 80 and men aged 20 to 87 were also injured.

Another person died after coming into contact with an explosive device

In the Esman community, a 46-year-old man died after stepping on an explosive device.

In addition, a russian attack drone wounded a 53-year-old man.

In the Seredyna-Buda community, a russian drone struck a residential area, injuring two women aged 45 and 66.

Police have opened criminal cases under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war) and are documenting the consequences of the russian attacks.

As a reminder, on the evening of July 3, russian forces struck downtown Sumy with an aerial bomb. Four people were killed in the attack on civilian infrastructure, including a mother and her 5-year-old child. Thirty-three people are known to have been wounded.
