Russians strike port in Odesa Region: two people killed, and ship flying flag of St. Kitts and Nevis damaged

On July 11, russian troops attacked port infrastructure in the Odesa Region. The blast wave damaged trucks, and two people were killed. A civilian merchant ship flying the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis was also hit.

It was reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

“In one of the ports, trucks were damaged by the blast wave. Unfortunately, two drivers were killed. We express our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims,” the statement reads.

Additionally, two other people were injured—they have received the necessary medical care.

In addition, a civilian merchant vessel flying the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis was damaged by the strike. A fire broke out on board but was quickly extinguished. No one was injured.

“Russia continues to deliberately target civilian ports, vessels, and logistics infrastructure, grossly violating international law and posing a threat to the safety of global shipping,” the ministry emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russia struck Odesa with a ballistic missile on the morning of July 11. According to preliminary data, two people were killed and another man was injured. A civilian infrastructure facility was hit.

Meanwhile, in Kyiv, the number of casualties has risen to 12 following russia’s nighttime shelling of the capital using ballistic missiles.
