The government of the aggressor country, russia, stated for the first time that the fuel shortage is caused by disruptions in the work of oil refineries that are under attack by Ukrainian drones.

The corresponding statement by russian Vice Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak is quoted by the TASS propaganda agency, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"We must admit that there are problems and there is a shortage, due to which we observe queues. Or sometimes gas stations work unstable. The shortage is for obvious reasons, due to the fact that our oil refineries are partially out of order and are being repaired due to strikes," Novak said.

According to him, the oil refineries are "partially out of order" due to strikes by Ukrainian drones.

Novak added that the russian leadership is "doing everything possible" to strengthen the protection of refineries.

The authorities also had to impose a ban on the export of petroleum products.

It is necessary to stabilize the situation on the domestic market.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 29, russian dictator vladimir putin acknowledged the fuel shortage in russia.

He significantly downplayed its scale and promised that the situation would soon stabilize.

As of June 24, restrictions on the sale of gasoline and diesel fuel had been introduced in more than two-thirds of russia's regions, some of which simply lack fuel.
