Lithuania handed a russian diplomat a note of protest on July 8 over attacks on the civilian population of Ukraine, as well as in connection with information attacks against the Baltic states.

This was reported by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The note, handed over to russia, stresses that deliberate terror against the civilian population and infrastructure is a gross violation of international humanitarian law and is considered a war crime that is not subject to the statute of limitations.

"Lithuania will continue to demand that the instigators, organizers and executors of all crimes committed by the russian federation against Ukraine be identified, named and brought to justice," the ministry stressed.

Also, during the meeting at the Foreign Ministry, the false statements repeatedly made by russian officials against the Baltic states were categorically rejected. In particular, it was emphasized that the Republic of Lithuania has never allowed its territory and airspace to be used for drone attacks against targets in russia and has repeatedly informed russia about this both through diplomatic channels and in public statements.

In addition, the russian representative was told that the insinuations spread by representatives of the russian foreign ministry regarding the alleged mass deportation of the russian-speaking population by the Baltic states are a complete lie - there were no such plans and there are no such plans.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Polish President Karol Nawrocki said that during talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the NATO summit, the parties failed to reach an understanding on historical issues. At the same time, he called the conversation constructive and stressed the importance of continuing the dialogue.
