A clash near the territorial recruitment and social support center in Lviv occurred on the evening of July 8 on Chervonoyi Kalyny Avenue in the Sykhiv neighborhood. According to local Telegram channels, the crowd surrounded a service car of the territorial recruitment center, damaged it and overturned it. The police confirmed that they were at the scene and explained that the conflict arose during events to notify citizens about mobilization.
Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi reported that they were investigating all the circumstances of the incident.
"I am currently investigating the situation in Sykhiv. I will report as soon as I have complete and verified information. In the meantime, I ask everyone to remain calm, be wise and not forget who our real enemy is!" – Sadovyi wrote.
What caused the clash with the territorial recruitment and social support center in Sykhiv
According to local Telegram channels, the conflict occurred after representatives of the territorial recruitment and social support center allegedly detained two men. The author of the Telegram channel Andrii Smoliy claims that one of them was taken to the district territorial recruitment and social support center, and the other was left in a company car.
In the published videos, people can be heard chanting "Shame". Telegram channels also report that members of the crowd:
- overturned the territorial recruitment and social support center's car;
- punctured its tires;
- dismantled the front bumper.
The Lviv Region police spokeswoman Alina Podreyko told Hromadske that law enforcement officers are maintaining public order and communicating with the participants in the incident.
According to her, during the notification events, representatives of the territorial recruitment and social support center discovered a man who was wanted for evading military service. After that, some of those present began to obstruct the work of the notification group, and later more people gathered near the scene.
As a reminder, the head of the Pokrovo-Ternivskyi regional territorial recruitment and social support center in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Region, Mykola Korolenko, reported to the Verkhovna Rada about the mobilization of a single father, accusing him of falsifying a court decision to obtain a deferral.
