Ukraine has launched a program to recruit foreign volunteers into the Ukrainian army. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"We have opened the market for logistical support services for foreign volunteers. As of today, the unified platform https://foreigners.mod.gov.ua/ is up and running. From now on, to join the program, companies need only submit an application on the website. The entire process for a foreign volunteer—from the decision to come to Ukraine to signing a military service contract—will follow uniform, transparent rules,” she said.
Svyrydenko noted that Ukraine’s goal is to have foreign volunteers fill 30–50% of combat positions. She emphasized that Ukrainian units need to be reinforced with motivated fighters who will strengthen their combat capabilities.
In turn, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced on his Telegram channel that Ukraine is opening the market for the support of foreign volunteers to Ukrainian companies; recruitment agencies will receive a fixed fee for each foreign volunteer who signs a contract, with payment made in stages—after certain milestones are met.
Only verified companies registered in Ukraine will be officially authorized to assist foreign volunteers. To do so, they must pass a government inspection and meet requirements for integrity and financial stability; they must not be subject to sanctions, have no ties to the aggressor state, and make a security deposit of UAH 5 million.
The companies will handle paperwork, insurance, arrival in Ukraine, accommodation, and meals. The cost of the service package is UAH 300,000 per candidate, and payments will be made in installments.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in June, Fedorov stated that the Ministry of Defense intends to fill up to 50% of assault trooper and infantry positions in the army with foreigners.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed that more foreigners be recruited into the Ukrainian army.
