A russian attack on Kyiv on the night of July 8 damaged 42 tram cars manufactured by the Polish company Pesa. The strike hit one of the capital’s depots. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that a task force has already been formed to repair the rolling stock, and they plan to complete the repairs in about a week.

Due to the damage to the depot, some tram routes have been temporarily replaced by buses No. 1T and No. 3T.

Specialists from all of the capital’s tram depots have been called in to assist with the repairs. They are tasked with assessing the damage and returning the cars to service.

In December 2018, Kyiv completed the delivery of a batch of 47 Pesa trams purchased from Poland to modernize the city’s electric transit system. The recent attack damaged most of the trams in this shipment.
