Ukraine currently does not have missiles capable of intercepting ballistic targets launched by russia, the aggressor nation. Serhii Beskrestnov (Flash), an advisor to the Minister of Defense, stated this in an interview with Radio NV.
Beskrestnov noted that Ukraine is trying to obtain missiles to counter russian ballistic missiles from its partners, as it has contracted for a large number of patriot missiles for the future but is currently trying to secure these missiles on loan.
“It was very painful. We have no missiles at all; we have nothing to use against ballistic missiles. And this problem isn’t unique to us,” the expert said.
According to him, there is a global shortage of PAC-3 missiles, particularly in countries fearful of russian aggression. Furthermore, if Ukraine lacks protection against such massive strikes—particularly on Kyiv—he believes the occupiers could destroy the entire infrastructure.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Monday, July 6, the aggressor state, the russian federation, launched a massive attack on Kyiv with missiles and drones, resulting in widespread destruction in the capital.
Air defense forces managed to neutralize 363 aerial targets, but none of the 23 “Iskander-M”/S-400 ballistic missiles or the six hypersonic anti-ship “Zircon”/“Onyx” missiles were shot down.
