As a result of the massive russian shelling of Kyiv on July 2, damage was reported to 63 residential buildings in the capital, 57 of which are apartment buildings. The Darnytskyi District of the city suffered the most extensive damage, according to Oleksii Kuleba.
In addition to the residential sector, social infrastructure facilities—including kindergartens, schools, and medical institutions—as well as commercial real estate properties sustained damage of varying degrees.
Over the past day and a half, residents of the capital have submitted more than 830 reports of property damage or destruction. Across Ukraine as a whole, citizens filed more than 2,600 similar reports during this period.
Special commissions are currently working in Kyiv to inspect the affected buildings and determine the exact extent of the damage. Once the initial assessment is complete, all data will be entered into the state Register of Damaged and Destroyed Property. In the next phase, experts will begin detailed inspections of individual apartments and private homes to facilitate the subsequent payment of compensation under the state program “eRecovery.”
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russia, the aggressor nation, launched a massive attack on Kyiv on the night of July 2. As a result of the strike, residential buildings, a market, and other civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, including the building housing one of the emergency medical care substations.
During the massive shelling of the capital on the night of July 2, russian troops fired a record number of ballistic missiles.
