The Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery, located in Kstovo in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of the aggressor country russia, has suspended operations following an attack by Ukrainian drones.

The agency’s sources said that the drones last attacked the oil refinery on Thursday, July 2. The strikes damaged the AVT-6 primary oil refining unit, which accounts for 53% of the plant’s refining capacity.
Reuters notes that on June 24, Ukraine also attacked the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery. At that time, drones disabled the AVT-5 unit, which accounts for approximately 25% of the plant’s capacity.
Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez is the fourth-largest oil refinery in russia in terms of capacity. The facility ranks second in gasoline production.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 24, the “Vot Tak” TV channel reported, citing statements by russian authorities and media outlets, that restrictions on the sale of gasoline and diesel fuel had been imposed in at least 64 regions of the russian federation.
