Alexander Bortnikov, the head of the aggressor country’s intelligence service, personally oversaw a special information operation targeting Ukraine and Poland, which is set to begin this Sunday, July 5.

Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"FSB Director Bortnikov is currently in charge of Russia’s information operations aimed at driving a wedge between Poland and Ukraine. FSB officers plan to release falsified documents regarding events of World War II—specifically, the Volyn tragedy—on July 5 in an attempt to undermine Ukrainian-Polish relations,” he said.

According to Kovalenko, immediately after the release, russian state media will begin actively using the forgeries.

Sources in the russian media confirm that they have been given advance notice of the release, on the night of July 4–5, of “sensational” materials regarding the events of the 1942–44 interethnic conflict in Volyn.
