Animals injured and buildings damaged in Kyiv zoo as result of russian attack

As a result of the russian attack on Kyiv on the night of July 2, animals were injured and buildings were damaged in the capital's zoo.

This was announced by the Kyiv City State Administration, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, it is reported that turtles and crocodiles were injured, on which fragments of glass and parts of frames fell.

"Fortunately, no animals were killed. Employees, who are on duty around the clock near the animals, immediately provided them with the necessary assistance. All animals are currently safe," the report says.

It is noted that the buildings of the primate and bird department, the dome of the winter garden, the aquaterrarium, the hayloft and the northern entrance group were damaged on the territory of the zoo.

Exotic vegetation of the winter garden was also damaged.

Currently, the zoo is eliminating the consequences of the enemy attack, the northern entrance group with parking is temporarily out of service.

Everything else is functioning normally, visitors enter through the central entrance.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the liquidation of the consequences of the russian massive attack is ongoing in Kyiv, damage has been recorded at more than 20 locations in the city, mostly residential buildings.

An ambulance station, a scientific institute, a hotel and enterprises were also damaged.

Rescuers in Kyiv recovered three more bodies from the rubble—bringing the death toll from the russian shelling on the night of July 2 to 30.
