President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked parliamentarians for their support for his bill on the Ukrainian National Pantheon and announced that he intends to sign it immediately.

Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"An important step. And it is important not only in the context of our history and Ukrainians honoring their heroes, but also in the context of creating the foundations for long-term social unity in the future. This is possible when the decisions of our state are built on the recognition of the real - those whom people truly honor, those who have made a truly historical contribution to the protection, development and strengthening of Ukraine, its subjectivity, independence and glory," he wrote.

Zelenskyy added that he expects the bill to be signed immediately.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Wednesday, July 1, the Verkhovna Rada approved a bill initiated by Zelenskyy on the creation of a Ukrainian National Pantheon in Kyiv to honor the most prominent representatives of the Ukrainian nation, including, in particular, the leadership of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA).
