Ukraine has received nearly USD 600 million under the new World Bank SPIRIT project to support social protection of vulnerable groups.

This was announced in a statement by the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The funds were provided by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) under the Loan Agreement signed on June 2, 2026 between Ukraine and the IBRD for USD 860 million.

The financing received includes USD 300 million in a loan supported by Japanese guarantees under the ADVANCE Ukraine Trust Fund, as well as USD 298.75 million in a loan supported by bilateral guarantees from the Government of the United Kingdom.

The funds are intended to reimburse expenses related to financing social benefits for the most vulnerable categories of the population, in particular, people with disabilities and vulnerable families with children, as well as strengthening the institutional capacity of authorities at the central and local levels.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine previously received a EUR 3.9 billion loan from the European Union for drones and urgent support for the army.
