On Wednesday, July 1, oil prices rose amid concerns that the breakdown of talks between Iran and the US on a final peace deal could lead to new disruptions in energy supplies.

This is reported by Economic Pravda with reference to Reuters.

The report says that overnight Brent oil futures rose 33 cents, or 0.45%, to USD 73.28 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 34 cents, or 0.49%, to USD 69.84 per barrel.

US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Doha on Tuesday for talks that the White House called high-level, but Iran and the host country - Qatar - said they would meet with mediators, not the Iranians themselves.

It is noted that earlier US Vice President JD Vance said that Iran would not be allowed to collect fees for passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, despite Iran's refusal to hold direct talks with the American delegation, Washington announced positive results from consultations in Qatar. According to a US administration representative, the negotiation process is ongoing, and technical consultations with Tehran are moving forward.
