The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (Energy Commission) raised the rate by 7.8% to UAH 118.64/MWh (excluding VAT).

This is stated in a commission's press release, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The statement notes that the regulator adopted the decision at a meeting on June 30, and the changes take effect on July 1.

The Energy Commission also planned to increase the electricity transmission tariff by 21.8% to UAH 903.53/MWh (excluding VAT).

This issue was removed from consideration due to a legal conflict in the updated legislation on the electricity market, but the regulator plans to revisit the transmission tariff adjustment at a later date.

The Energy Commission had previously stated that raising these tariffs would affect the price of electricity for businesses, while the price of Ukrenergo’s services for households would remain unchanged.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Energy Commission had previously planned to increase Ukrenergo’s electricity transmission tariff by 22% to UAH 903.53/MWh starting July 1.
