Oleksandr Haidu, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy (Servant of the People faction) and 11 other parliamentarians are proposing that parliament require stores selling alcoholic beverages to stock at least 25% Ukrainian wines by volume on their shelves.

This is outlined in Bill No. 15364, which was registered with the Rada on June 29.

In addition, Ukrainian wine must be displayed in the most visible and accessible locations for consumers. It is proposed that all these requirements remain in effect for the duration of martial law plus an additional year after its repeal or termination.

According to expert estimates, as of 2023, the share of imports in volume terms on the Ukrainian wine market exceeds 50%.
