Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukrainian defenders hit two russian oil refineries on the night of June 28 - the Slavyansky refinery in the Krasnodar Krai and a refinery in the Yaroslavl Oblast.

He reported this on Facebook.

"Our soldiers started the Constitution Day of Ukraine very aptly. Tonight, our long-range sanctions reached two oil refineries in russia. The Slavyansky refinery in the Krasnodar Krai was hit - about 300 kilometers from the front line. We also reached the refinery in the Yaroslavl Oblast, which is about 700 kilometers from our border," the message says.

Zelenskyy stressed that in this way Ukraine continues operations that weaken russia's ability to wage war. The President added that long-range strikes lead to a reduction in resources working for the "russian war machine" and are "another step towards peace."

"We will continue to respond to russian terror. Thanks to the soldiers for these results! I am grateful to everyone who helps us. Everyone who defends Ukraine also affirms the power of the Constitution," Zelenskyy summed up.

As a reminder, local media previously reported that a fire broke out at the Slavyansky Refinery in the russian Krasnodar Krai after a drone attack on the night of June 28. It is one of the largest independent refineries in russia.

The plant's capacity is about 4-5 million tons of raw materials per year, the refinery provides about 9% of the oil refining volume in the Southern Federal District. The plant is one of the largest exporters of petroleum products through the ports of the Black Sea.
