Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said that he does not rule out possible provocations by russia against one of the NATO countries.

He said this in an interview with a CBS News reporter.

There are enough weighty arguments for a russian attack on NATO, but there are many reasons why it will not happen.

During the conversation, the journalist asked whether russia could try to test the operation of NATO's Article 5 in the next two years. In response, Sikorski noted that at the moment the russian federation does not have sufficient forces to successfully attack the Alliance while the war against Ukraine is ongoing.

At the same time, he suggested that Moscow could resort to provocations or operations "under a foreign flag" to create a pretext for possible actions against NATO countries. Sikorski stressed that the Alliance must clearly demonstrate its understanding of such scenarios and not allow itself to be deceived.

In the context of potential risks, he mentioned the Suwałki Corridor, which is often considered one of the vulnerable spots on NATO's eastern flank. The minister also noted that the Baltic countries - Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - are particularly threatened by russia. At the same time, Sikorski stressed that Poland is significantly strengthening its defense capabilities, increasing defense spending and developing military programs, in particular the Eastern Shield project.
