The leader of the Polish opposition party "Law and Justice" Jarosław Kaczyński, speaking at a conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction in Gdańsk, Poland, reminded Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi of the scandal involving the Lviv authorities’ failure to pay a debt to a Polish construction company, Polsatnews reports.
“The mayor of Lviv is here at this conference. Regardless of the fact that he is an obvious Bandera supporter, he is also a person who refuses to pay a Polish company for work already completed,” Kaczyński stated.
According to Kaczyński, by inviting Sadovyi to the conference, Ukraine effectively made it clear that it does not consider it necessary to resolve the conflict with its Polish partners. The PiS leader urged people not to harbor any illusions about cooperation with the Ukrainian authorities.
Against the backdrop of this scandal, Kaczyński also announced that he was returning the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise awarded to him by Ukraine and called on Poland to begin blocking Ukraine’s accession to the EU until Kyiv officially recognizes the crimes of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA).
As a reminder, this concerns the Polish company Control Process, which built a waste processing plant in Lviv but has yet to receive full payment from the city authorities. The company has won all arbitration proceedings, but Lviv is ignoring the courts’ rulings. The total amount of the Polish side’s claims exceeds EUR 6 million.
