Carrying out the tasks set by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as part of a 40-day operation to exert pressure on russia, the “Alpha” unit of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) carried out successful strikes against military support vessels located at the “Zatoka” shipyard in temporarily occupied Kerch. Russian military air defense systems in the area of the Kerch Strait were also targeted.

It was reported by the SSU, according to the Ukrainian News agency.

During the special operation, SSU drones struck the Project 15310 cable-laying ships "Volga" and "Vyatka," as well as the cargo-passenger ferry "Petropavlovsk," which was 96% complete. The strikes caused a massive fire on board.

The “Volga” and “Vyatka” were being built for the russian Ministry of Defense. Their purpose is to deploy the “Harmony” hydroacoustic surveillance system for underwater military reconnaissance. In addition, they can deploy contactless mines to target ships, undersea pipelines, cables, and other critical infrastructure. Each of these vessels is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Furthermore, SSU drones struck weapons and a radar station belonging to an S-400 anti-aircraft missile system that was covering the Kerch Strait area.

"The SSU’s systematic efforts to target Russian military infrastructure in the temporarily occupied Crimea deprive the enemy of the ability to use the peninsula as a logistical and military hub. The destruction of air defense systems paves the way for new high-precision strikes, while the disabling of ships and port infrastructure undermines the occupiers’ ability to support their forces,” the SSU emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the SSU struck the “Kavkaz” seaport, an oil depot, and russian air defense systems on the Crimea bridge.
