Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had approved a 40-day operation by the Security Service of Ukraine aimed at forcing russia, the aggressor nation, to make peace and end the war.
The head of state announced this on his official Telegram channel on Thursday, June 25.
Zelenskyy said he had heard a report from Yevhen Khmara, the acting head of the SSU, on plans for “far-reaching sanctions” and the results of the service’s work, specifically that of the “Alpha” Special Operations Center.
“I have approved a 40-day operation for the Service to exert influence on the aggressor state with the aim of compelling it to end the war,” Zelenskyy said.
The head of state did not specify exactly which operation he was referring to. He also did not provide any details about it.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that over the past few months, the SBU has demonstrated the highest level of success in defending Ukraine’s positions on the front lines through the use of various types of drones. In this regard, “Alpha” leads in the number of militants and pieces of equipment belonging to the occupying forces that have been destroyed.
In addition, Zelenskyy and Khmara discussed challenges in the area of Ukraine’s internal security. The President did not specify what exactly was being discussed.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, on June 25, President Zelenskyy stated that the level of anxiety among residents of the aggressor country, russia, is now significantly higher than it was during the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ operation in the Kursk Oblast.
Also yesterday, the head of state stated that Belarus must stop expanding its military infrastructure along the border with Ukraine.
As a reminder, today the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that he recently met with representatives of Ukraine in Minsk. He discussed with them that Belarus should not get drawn into a war against Ukraine.
