The Armed Forces of Ukraine have raised the national flag on the Kinburn Spit, but there is no question of its liberation. Currently, the spit is a combat zone. Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, said this in a comment to Suspilne.
According to him, the destruction of the logistics infrastructure of the aggressor country, russia, is currently underway. This is an ongoing process that has been taking place for several years now.
At the same time, Pletenchuk confirmed that there are currently no plans to liberate the Kinburn Spit.
“When you see Ukrainian marines on Kinburn, only then will it be possible to say that this has happened. The territory is not considered liberated until an infantryman sets foot there. In our case—a marine,” said the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy.
He added that the Kinburn Spit is currently a zone of active combat operations.
The Kinburn Spit is a sandy spit in the northwestern part of the Kinburn Peninsula between the Dnipro-Buh Estuary and the Black Sea. Administratively, it is part of Mykolaiv Region. The spit was occupied by russian troops at the outset of the full-scale invasion in 2022 and has been under enemy control ever since.

Earlier today, June 25, the South Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian troops had forced the occupiers to retreat from the Kinburn Spit.
“As a result of heavy fire, the Southern Defense Forces forced the occupiers to retreat from their positions; the evacuation of surviving personnel is underway, and the occupiers are abandoning their defensive lines,” the statement reads.
The military also released a video filmed by the 801st Separate Unit for Countering Underwater Sabotage Forces and Means, which shows the Ukrainian flag raised on the spit.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the analytical project DeepState stated that the Ukrainian flag on the Kinburn Spit was raised using a drone, and that the russians are not withdrawing their units from the area.
Back in mid-June, the commander of the Odesa operational-tactical group of forces Denys Nosikov stated in an interview with Channel 24 that the russians were allegedly evacuating their units from the territory of the Kinburn Spit.
