The Kremlin officially stated that the US had refused to fulfill the agreements that were allegedly reached during the meeting between Donald Trump and vladimir putin in Alaska in August last year. This is reported by Reuters.

Within a few days, three representatives of the russian leadership simultaneously criticized Washington. In particular, russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the US was "unable to go its part of the way" and added that Moscow now counts only on its own victory. Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov called last year's summit in Anchorage an "American tactical ploy" to buy time to rearm the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and his deputy Sergey Ryabkov noted the breakdown of the agreements, although he noted that contacts with Washington have not yet been stopped.

The russian side hoped that Trump would agree to its ultimatum: the transfer of the entire territory of Donbas under russian control in exchange for the suspension of hostilities behind the front line. However, the White House and Trump himself categorically denied the existence of such agreements.

According to analysts, the current change in the Kremlin's rhetoric is caused by military and economic pressure on russia due to regular raids by Ukrainian drones, in particular on the Moscow Oil Refinery. In addition, at the recent G7 summit in France, Trump demonstrated solidarity with Volodymyr Zelenskyy's position, recognizing Ukraine's superiority on the battlefield.
