Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski suggested that russian dictator vladimir putin's statement about a "retaliatory attack" could mean an operation under a foreign flag on russian territory as a pretext for a "reaction".

He wrote about this on the social network X.

"This sounds like an announcement of a provocation. I expect an attack on russian territory under a foreign flag, to which putin will "react". I recall that in August 1939, the Abwehr organized a "Polish" attack on a radio station in Gliwice in order to create a pretext for war," the message says.

Thus, Sikorski commented on putin's statement that russia would carry out retaliatory strikes on European countries if UAVs were launched from their territory towards russian facilities

"They understand that there will be a retaliatory strike. I think everyone understands this or should understand it. Therefore, they are trying to distance themselves from this in every possible way," the russian dictator said during an informal conversation with graduates of military educational institutions.

In particular, he added that the Baltic countries do not want an escalation of the conflict with Moscow in connection with the appearance of drones in their airspace: "They do not point the finger at Moscow. They say that these are Ukrainian drones. This is a mistake, a malfunction of the electronic warfare system or something else." The attack on the radio station mentioned by Sikorski, with which he drew a parallel, is known as the Gliwice provocation. On the night of August 31, 1938, the Nazis carried out a false flag operation - they attacked a German radio station, posing as Polish citizens.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, putin, meanwhile, stated that the aggressor country of russia is ready for negotiations with Ukraine on the basis of the agreements reached in Istanbul. According to Reuters, russia is looking for urgent ways to alleviate the acute shortage of gasoline and diesel fuel on the domestic market. Among the measures being considered by the aggressor government are the import of petroleum products and the introduction of subsidies to contain retail prices.

US President Donald Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he was impressed by the recent successes of the Ukrainian army. He told him this during a meeting at the G7 summit in the French city of Evian-les-Bains, according to the Financial Times.
