In russia, the sale of automotive fuel has begun to be blocked on digital platforms. The restrictions affect Avito, Ozon, and Wildberries. This is happening against the backdrop of the total disappearance of gasoline from russian gas stations.

This was reported by the russian propaganda news agency Interfax.

From now on, it is prohibited to place ads for the sale of gasoline on resources such as Ozon and Wildberries. Attempts to create such product cards are blocked at the moderation stage before publication.

The Avito platform has temporarily hidden ads related to fuel trade for the period of updating the rules in the relevant category.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service of the russian federation announced cooperation with digital platforms to prevent "speculative resale of fuel." The agency also noted that it had previously instructed territorial authorities to strengthen control over the sale of fuel for the agricultural sector, in particular during sales from oil depots, storage facilities and gas stations.

What is known about the gasoline crisis in the russian federation

The russian federation has already introduced limits on the sale of gasoline in various regions of the russian federation, including Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tatarstan. At the Tatneft gas stations in Moscow, restrictions of up to 20 liters of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline and up to 40 liters of diesel fuel per car are in force, and similar regulations apply in other regions of the company's presence.

In St. Petersburg, limits of up to 20 liters of gasoline and 40 liters of diesel fuel "in one hand" have also been introduced. Local authorities claimed there was no reason for the shortage, despite the restrictions imposed.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian attacks have hit 15 russian oil refineries since the beginning of 2026. As of May, almost 40% of the primary oil refining capacity in the russian federation was out of order.

Gas stations in occupied Crimea have stopped selling fuel to individuals and legal entities. Gasoline and diesel fuel are only available for transport by "state" and "operational" services.

And on the night of June 21, fires were reported in temporarily occupied Kerch and in the area of the Kavkaz port in the Kerch Strait after a drone attack.
