Ihor Smilianskyi, the head of Ukrposhta, declined to participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) due to a conflict with Polish customs, which will take place in Gdańsk on June 25–26, 2026, and is jointly organized by the Republic of Poland and Ukraine.

He announced this on his Facebook page, according to the Ukrainian News agency.

The post states that Polish customs has been blocking Ukrposhta vehicles for two months now.

“It was precisely because of this that I decided a month ago not to participate in URC 2026. As they say, ‘even before it became a trend’ set by the President,” Smilianskyi wrote.

He noted that customers are not noticing this because alternative routes through other countries have been established.

However, Polish authorities do allow Nova Poshta’s vehicles to pass because they carry express shipments rather than government postal documents.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the joint-stock company Ukrposhta complains that Polish customs has been blocking their vehicles for two months now.
