Repair and restoration work is underway on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra after a russian drone hit the Holy Assumption Cathedral. The corresponding footage was published by the State Emergency Service on Friday, June 19.
Units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carefully cover the damaged structures to protect the shrine from rain and further destruction. In this way, emergency workers are helping to preserve the cathedral, which has experienced wars, destruction and trials for centuries.
"Russia is striking not only at residential buildings, but also at our memory, culture, spirituality and everything that forms Ukrainian identity," the report says.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve partially resumed work for visitors on June 19 despite the damage caused by the russian aggressor on June 15.
