Lavrov now wants to achieve goals of "SVO" through diplomacy and demands that West stop "expansion"

Russia allegedly prefers a diplomatic path to resolving the war against Ukraine, but at the same time puts forward a number of ultimatums regarding its own security and control of the humanitarian sphere. This was stated by russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, russian media reported.

The head of the russian diplomatic service noted that this option of development of events is a priority for Moscow.

"Russia prefers that the goals of the SVO be achieved through diplomacy," Lavrov said.

According to him, the political and diplomatic path to ending the conflict must necessarily include providing Moscow with security guarantees on its western borders. In addition, the Kremlin has returned to its initial propaganda narratives, demanding intervention in linguistic and religious issues within Ukraine.

"Ensuring the rights and dignity of citizens and compatriots, including the possibility of using the russian language and preserving the Orthodox faith," the russian minister added.

At the same time, Lavrov accused Western countries of attempts to continue "military-political expansion", which, according to the russian Foreign Ministry, interferes with the natural processes of forming the so-called multipolar world.

Recall that on the night of June 18, Ukrainian forces again attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery, which supplies fuel to the russian army, and other russian facilities. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the destruction of the refinery a "just response".

Local residents reported the flight of a large number of drones. At the same time, the russian authorities announced the alleged destruction of 43 drones by air defense forces. However, judging by the footage published on the network, several drones still reached their targets.

The attack on the Moscow refinery is the second in a week - on the night of June 15-16, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the Moscow Oblast with drones, and the largest oil refinery in Moscow came under attack. Then, as a result of the attack, the refinery suspended its work.
