The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, assessed the prospects for the end of the war and possible peace in 2026. He spoke about his vision of the situation in an interview with the Ukrainian News Agency.
According to Kim, the trend in Ukraine is currently optimistic, and the initiative on the battlefield is on our side.
"It's normal. If our initiative continues, if the russians continue to burn as many factories and processing plants as in May and June, then we'll see. I think that Ukraine will continue this work in the next few months. And if the pace is maintained, it will seriously affect the situation," he noted.
At the same time, the head of the Regional Military Administration did not name any deadlines, recalling that the forecasts for a quick end to the war, which were previously voiced by various people, have repeatedly failed to come true.
"As some "experts" said - "two or three weeks," but it stretched out for four years, so there will be no clear forecast here. This is not the first time we are in such a place where peace is possible, but all this will not depend on us. There are some things that we cannot agree on at all. There are some things that we objectively have no influence on," Kim explained.
He added that Ukraine will continue to work, emphasizing the strong development of the private sector of the drone industry, which, in his opinion, will work for the benefit of the country in the coming years.
As previously reported, Kim believes that Kyiv is more dangerous today than Mykolaiv.
