The Security Service of Ukraine reported that it had intercepted a russian document which, according to the agency, refutes moscow’s claim that Ukrainian drones were involved in the attack on a bus carrying Belarusian citizens in the Bryansk Oblast of the russian federation.

According to the SSU, the document in question is an intelligence report from the “Safe Region” monitoring center in the Bryansk Oblast, obtained during counterintelligence operations. The document states that no Ukrainian drones were detected in the area at the time of the incident.

According to the security service, the report notes that the so-called Regional Segment of the Operational Headquarters of the Unified National Center did not detect any UAVs in the area of the incident. Furthermore, drone flights were not confirmed by the duty officer of the radar battalion in the village of Suponevo or by a representative of the 32nd Division of the russian Armed Forces.

The SSU believes that this information casts doubt on the official russian version of events.

“Thus, the SSU has grounds to believe that the attack on the bus carrying Belarusian citizens in the Bryansk Oblast of the russian federation was a special operation carried out by russian special services,” the agency stated.

The Ukrainian security service also noted that russia has repeatedly accused Ukraine of incidents in which, according to Kyiv, russia itself was involved.

“The Russian authorities use such incidents to carry out their own information and psychological operations and to exert pressure on Ukraine on the international stage,” the SSU noted.

The agency emphasized that the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces adhere to the norms of international humanitarian law and strike exclusively at legitimate military targets.

As a reminder, the General Staff previously refuted russia’s claims that a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone had allegedly struck a bus carrying a Belarusian youth football team in the Bryansk Oblast.
