President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the Defense Forces had struck a moscow oil refinery for the second time in a week, as well as other targets. According to him, this is a "fully justified response" to the shelling by the occupation power.

He announced this on Facebook.

“Last night, our long-range strikes once again reached the Moscow region: the Moscow oil refinery was struck for the second time this week,” the President said.

He also reported on other targets that were struck, including sites in the Rostov Oblast and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

“This is a fully justified response to Russian strikes on our cities and communities and yet another important result of our soldiers’ efforts against facilities that support the Russian war machine,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

He thanked Ukraine’s defense and security forces for their joint efforts—the SSU, USF, SOF, DIU, and the missile brigade—for their precision.

“In recent days, all our partners have noted the accuracy and effectiveness of our medium-range strikes and long-range sanctions. It is time to end this war, and Russia must take the necessary diplomatic steps,” he concluded.

As a reminder, on the morning of June 18, drones attacked moscow and the moscow Oblast. One of the targets was the moscow oil refinery in the Kapotnya district, where a fire broke out after the strike.

Local residents reported seeing a large number of drones flying overhead. At the same time, Russian authorities claimed that 43 drones had allegedly been shot down by air defense forces. However, judging by footage posted online, several drones did reach their targets.

The attack on the moscow Oil Refinery is the second in a week—on the night of June 15–16, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a drone attack on the moscow oblast, targeting moscow’s largest oil refinery.

As a result of the attack, the refinery suspended operations.
