On the morning of June 18, drones attacked moscow and the moscow oblast. One of the targets was the moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district, where a fire broke out following the strike.

It was reported by monitoring Telegram channels and moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Local residents reported seeing a large number of drones flying overhead. At the same time, russian authorities claimed that 43 drones had allegedly been shot down by air defense forces. However, judging by footage posted online, several drones did reach their targets.

The video shows fires breaking out on the factory grounds and thick black smoke rising above the city, visible from various parts of moscow.

Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of the russian capital, confirmed the attack on the city. According to him, air defense forces continued to repel the drone raid, but some of the drones managed to reach the moscow Oil Refinery.

“Air defense forces continue to repel the massive attack. Several drones managed to reach the Moscow Oil Refinery. Measures are being taken to address the consequences,” Sobyanin said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of June 15–16, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a drone attack on the moscow oblast. Moscow’s largest oil refinery was hit.

As a result of the attack, the refinery suspended operations.
