As of the morning of June 17, power outages occurred in four regions of Ukraine due to attacks by the aggressor state, russia. In addition, 40 settlements were left without power due to severe weather.

It was reported by the Ukrenergo JSC.

"The enemy continues to attack the Ukrainian power grid. As a result of drone attacks and artillery strikes in frontline regions, as of this morning, consumers in the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia Regions are without power," the statement reads.

It is noted that emergency repair work has begun in areas where the security situation permits.

At the same time, due to adverse weather conditions (heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds), 40 settlements in the Sumy and Chernihiv Regions were completely or partially without power as of this morning. The regional power company’s repair crews have already begun restoring the damaged power lines.

The company noted that electricity consumption is in line with seasonal trends. At the same time, they recommend shifting peak electricity consumption to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently — from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, meanwhile, on the night of June 17, russian troops attacked the city of Trostianets in the Sumy Region. The strike was massive; significant destruction was recorded, and gas stations were destroyed.

In the Sumy Region, a russian drone attacked the grounds of an equestrian sports school. Horses were killed as a result of the strike on the stables; according to preliminary data, no employees of the facility were injured.
