Israel asked the US to review the text of the upcoming peace agreement with Iran, but its request was denied. The US fears that Israel might leak the document to the press prematurely.

CNN and the Jerusalem Post reported this, citing sources.

One of the reasons for this decision was the concern that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might disclose the document’s contents before its official release.

At the same time, a US official called these reports “not accurate” and stated that the US continues to closely coordinate its actions with regional partners, including Israel, throughout the negotiation process.

The leaders of the US and Iran had previously announced that they had reached a peace agreement. The text of the memorandum of understanding has not yet been made public, but Bloomberg and Al Arabiya have already reported on certain provisions of the document.

According to published reports, once the conflict ends, Iran will gain access to frozen assets and other financial incentives. In addition, following the signing of the memorandum, the US Treasury Department is to authorize the export of Iranian petroleum products, and Washington is to lift the naval blockade. In addition, the parties will work to restore shipping in the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels within 30 days.

It is also reported that the US, together with regional partners, will prepare an economic rehabilitation program for Iran with funding of at least USD 300 billion.

For its part, Iran commits to not developing nuclear weapons and to maintaining the current framework of its nuclear program. In return, the US will not impose new sanctions against Tehran or increase its military presence in the region.

According to media reports, the US side is already presenting the document to its allies during the G7 summit in France. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters that he had reviewed the text and called it a “turning point.”

US President Donald Trump told reporters that he is ready to read the agreement aloud, while Vice President J.D. Vance attributed the lack of a public release of the document to diplomatic technicalities.

As a reminder, the peace agreement between the US and Iran is scheduled to be officially signed on June 19 in Switzerland. The parties have agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
