The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), together with other Defense Forces, struck the Moscow Oil Refinery, which is a key supplier of fuel to the russian capital.

The SSU informed Ukrainian News Agency about this.

"Fulfilling the tasks set by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, soldiers of the SSU's Alpha Special Operations Center, together with other Defense Forces, successfully struck the Moscow Oil Refinery (Moscow Oblast, russian federation). The distance to the target from the state border of Ukraine is about 500 kilometers. This is the largest oil refinery in Moscow. The enterprise provides a significant part of the russian capital's fuel market, supplies key volumes of gasoline and over 50% of diesel fuel for the region, as well as fuel for Moscow airports," the SSU noted.

As a result of the strike, a large-scale fire broke out in the area of the facility. According to preliminary information, the key primary oil refining unit, which is the "heart" of the plant, was damaged.

In addition, at night, SSU drones successfully worked on the infrastructure of the Poltavskaya oil depot in the Krasnodar Krai. A fire also broke out there.

The oil industry is one of the main sources of funding for the russian federation's budget, which finances the war against Ukraine. The destruction of such facilities causes multimillion-dollar losses to the aggressor state, disrupts production and logistics chains, and also reduces russia's economic potential for continuing armed aggression.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Defense Forces, struck a military-industrial complex enterprise and a number of oil facilities in the Moscow Oblast, as well as the Belbek military airfield in Crimea.
