The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has downgraded Ukraine's economic growth forecast.

This is stated in the IMF materials, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The fund noted that they expect Ukraine's GDP to increase this year by 1-1.6%, while previously they had forecast about 2%.

It is noted that the Ukrainian economy continues to grow, albeit at a slower pace than expected at the beginning of the year.

The macroeconomic situation in Ukraine generally remains under control.

The IMF noted the sufficient level of the National Bank's international reserves, the preservation of financial stability, and controlled inflation expectations, despite external shocks.

The IMF explained the deterioration in the GDP growth forecast by two key factors - russia's war against Ukraine and the negative impact of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East on the global economy.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the State Statistics Service worsened the estimate of the GDP decline in January-March 2026 from 0.5% to 0.6%.
