Latvian Defense Minister Raivis Melnis has made his first foreign visit to Ukraine.
The country's Defense Ministry reported this on the X social network on Friday, June 12, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that this is the newly appointed minister's first foreign visit.
Melnis is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian government officials and representatives of the security and defense sector.
The main goal of the visit is to strengthen military cooperation between Ukraine and Latvia.
The parties plan to discuss: the participation of the Latvian defense industry in supporting Ukraine; expanding joint defense projects; the possibility of creating joint ventures in the defense sector.
