The Shehyni-Medyka checkpoint will continue to process passenger buses throughout the summer period without any stops.

This was announced by the Vice Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba in his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Earlier, the Polish side planned to temporarily stop the passage of buses to enter its country due to scheduled repairs of the road surface at the checkpoint.

Such a decision at the height of the holiday season could provoke a transport collapse and force carriers to massively change routes.

A compromise was reached during urgent negotiations between the relevant departments of the two countries with the operational assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland.

The parties agreed on a schedule and format of work that will allow rail and road carriers to operate as normal, avoiding long delays at the border for passengers.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, it was previously reported that due to repairs, the Shehyni - Medyka checkpoint will stop allowing buses to Poland for a year and a half.
