In occupied Sevastopol, plans to distribute gasoline via ration coupons have been postponed because tanker trucks were unable to deliver fuel to the city on time. The logistical delay is linked to recent Ukrainian strikes on supply routes on the peninsula. Reuters reported this, citing a statement by the city’s so-called governor, Mikhail Razvozhayev.
Due to an acute fuel shortage in Crimea, which has persisted since last month, the occupation authorities were forced to introduce gasoline rationing. However, due to the disruption of recent deliveries, existing coupons had to be canceled, and the issuance of new ones postponed. Razvozhayev urged civilian drivers not to form lines at gas stations and warned that, for now, priority for refueling will be given exclusively to public transportation, municipal utilities, emergency services, and vehicles of the so-called government.
This fuel crisis on the peninsula coincided with a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Kyiv’s ongoing campaign to strike energy and logistics facilities on russian territory and in the territories it occupies is proving effective.
At the same time, the situation in the region remains tense. The occupation head of Sevastopol also reported that in the early hours of Thursday, June 11, the city came under a new massive drone attack. According to him, more than two dozen Ukrainian drones were allegedly shot down over the base of the russian Black Sea Fleet.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a spa hotel in the occupied Crimea had promised guests gasoline for making reservations but canceled the promotion due to a fuel shortage.
