On the night of June 11, the Krasnodar Krai region of the russian federation came under attack by drones. A fire broke out at the Afipsky Oil Refinery, and damage to buildings in Krasnodar and the surrounding region was also reported. It was reported by regional media outlets and the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters, as well as Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev.
According to local residents, the attack on the facility in the village of Afipsky began after midnight, with the sounds of drones flying overhead heard at intervals of several minutes. The region’s emergency response headquarters confirmed the fire, stating that drone debris fell in the village of Afipsky. As a result, a fire broke out on the refinery’s premises. The extent of the damage to the industrial facility is currently being assessed.
Kondratyev reported that a “drone hazard” alert was issued in the region due to the attack. According to him, UAV debris also struck an apartment building in Krasnodar, causing a fire. The Telegram channel Astra specifies that a high-rise building in the city center was damaged. In addition, several private homes were damaged in the Seversky District.
According to local authorities, three people were injured as a result of the nighttime incidents: two in Krasnodar and one in the Seversky District. Emergency services were on the scene.
